Alliance Air resumes air connectivity between Delhi and Shimla

After two years of Covid-19 pandemic, Alliance Air has resumed air connectivity between Himachal Pradesh and Shimla. Earlier, the resumption was to take place on 6 September. However, due to unpleasant weather circumstances, the plan was cancelled and the new date, i.e 26 September was fixed.
Yash Vardhan Singh, Deputy Engineer at Alliance Air, said, “Alliance Air has expanded its connectivity by recommencing the Delhi-Shimla-Delhi route that will operate effectively from 26 September.”
The departure time from Delhi is 7:10 a.m. and the take-off from Shimla is at 8:50 a.m. daily. The price is around Rs 2141. Furthermore, under the UDAN scheme, 50% of the seats on these flights will be discounted to Rs 2,480, with the remainder determined by the company.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur virtually inaugurated by flagging off the new ATR-42-600 aircraft of Alliance Air. He stated that the state government is making all the possible efforts to boost air connectivity, which will help develop tourism.
The flight can carry 48 passengers on board from Delhi to Shimla, while a maximum of 24 passengers can be accommodated upon returning (Shimla to Delhi).
Commenting on the development, Himachal Pradesh BJP Chief Suresh Kashyap added that he was glad to have the flight service back in Shimla. He also stated that he had repeatedly brought up this issue with the central government and the union minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, assured him that the flight would be resumed soon.
