Chandigarh: Elaborating on the reports of an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) SAD(D), the senior leader of the AAP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday said that a meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader and Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha and SAD(D) president Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa was held and instead of an alliance, a discussion was carried out about SAD(D) leaders joining the AAP. He said that the AAP would not form any alliance with the SAD(D) but all the leaders including Dhindsa would soon join the AAP.
Cheema said that both parties were working to save Punjab and due to this, will come together on a platform to raise their voice and held various governments, who had been in power, accountable for the harassment and mistreatment that the people of Punjab are facing for a long time. He said that Dhindsa was positive and affirmative about joining the AAP and would soon take a decision.
