Ajit Pawar reacts to Maharashtra CM’s residence’s food & beverage bill; Shinde hits back

NCP leader Ajit Pawar reacted sharply to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s residence’s food and beverage bill. In the last four months, it has reached Rs 2 crore 68 lakh.

In response to the NCP leader’s allegation, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that people come to the CM’s residence from all over the state for work and are served tea and water.

Shinde went on to say that he does not know that a huge number of people come here every day. Should we not give them tea or water, because it is in our culture? We don’t feed biryani.

A high-level meeting was organised on Sunday by the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi ahead of the Budget session in the state assembly. Senior Aghadi leaders such as Ajit Pawar, Aditya Thackeray, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ambadas Danve, Jitendra Awhad, Anil Parab, and others participated in the meeting.

The meeting was organised to make a strategy for the alliance before the start of the Budget Session of the Maharashtra assembly beginning on Monday.

The opposition has been saying that government departments are replete with idle files and that the state government is not paying attention to the common man.

Ajit Pawar has demanded that Maharashtra, like Bihar, conduct a caste-based census. The opposition said that if the Bihar government can conduct a census, then why not the Maharashtra government.

Reacting to Uddhav Thackeray’s statement amid the possibility of a mid-term poll in the state, Pawar added, “The demand was raised earlier to hold the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections simultaneously, and there is a possibility of it in 2024.”
