Airtel CEO: High-Speed Wi-Fi in 1,200+ Cities Now Available, Highlights New Value Plans

Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal has reached out to over 495 million customers through a letter. In it, Vittal announced that Airtel now provides high-speed Wi-Fi services in 1,200 cities across India. He also stated that Airtel offers the largest selection of TV shows, movies, and web series along with its Wi-Fi plans.

“We now need high speed internet at home for smart devices, studying and working. While Airtel Wi-Fi has historically had limited availability, Airtel has worked towards solving this problem and now we have high speed Wi-Fi available at present in 1200+ cities. This means that those of you who were unable to access high-speed internet will now be able to do so,” Vittal wrote.

He further mentioned that to demonstrate this capability, Airtel is now offering even more value:

1. Providing the largest selection of TV shows, movies, and web series included with the Wi-Fi plan. Specifically, this content, delivered through Airtel Wi-Fi, will give customers access to over 22 OTT platforms and more than 350 TV channels.
2. Additionally, as a token of gratitude, every time a customer adds a new Airtel service—be it Mobile, Content, or Wi-Fi—they will receive extra value beyond their basic plan.

According to the Airtel website, the company offers over 22 OTT platforms and 350+ TV channels under its five Wi-Fi plans, which start at Rs 699 per month. The speed varies across these plans.
