Air India Urination Incident: Accused Shankar Mishra sent to 14 days judicial custody

The accused Shankar Mishra, who had allegedly urinated on a co-passenger onboard an Air India flight between New York on 26 November has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the advocate of Shankar Mishra’s Manu Sharma stated that only for one FIR there is a non-bailable offense and others are bailable offenses.

The Metropolitan Magistrate Anamika recorded the submission which was made by police and said the accused Shankar Mishra has been non-cooperative.

“Accused Shankar Mishra’s mobile phone was traced and he was located in Bengaluru. He could not even be traced at his workplace. The entire material points out that he was deliberately not joining the probe,” noted the Delhi Court.

Moreover, in Delhi’s Patiala Court accused Shankar Mishra’s lawyer moved a bail plea which will be heard on 11 January.

However, for a medical examination, the accused was taken to Safdarjung Hospital before taking to the Patiala House Court in Delhi.

Earlier on 26 November the incident took place on an Air India flight from John F Kennedy international airport in New York to Delhi the flight was on its way.

Furthermore, in connection with the case, the accused Shankar Mishra was arrested on Friday from Bengaluru by Delhi Police.
