After Nitish Kumar meets Rahul Gandhi, BJP tweets Nitish Ji, no vacancy for PM post

A day after meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, was reminded that the post of prime minister is not open by BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravishankar.

“Had Nitish Kumar been proactive in developing Bihar like he is for his personal ambition, many Bihari youth would have got employment opportunities,” the BJP leader tweeted.

Where have you been today, Nitish ji? asked RS Prasad, reminding Nitish Kumar that he was Ram Manohar Lohia’s student and the first proponent of non-Congressism.

“What you are doing today—knocking on every door—is not new. Many did the same before you, but with no result. There is no vacancy for the prime minister’s post. But many opposition leaders are already in the queue. “You too stand,” RS Prasad said.

Nitish Kumar is in Delhi meeting with opposition leaders one month after leaving the BJP’s alliances and forming the Mahagathbandhan government with the help of the RJD and the Congress. He met Rahul Gandhi on Monday, who apparently had a significant impact on the abrupt transition of power in Bihar.

Kumar is scheduled to meet with Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the CPM, and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, following Nitish Kumar’s meeting with Telangana Chief Minister KCR.

There have been new rumours about Nitish becoming the PM’s face of the combined opposition before the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections because the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar regrouped under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

However, such assertions have been refuted by Nitish Kumar, who also stated, following Rahul Gandhi, that he had no aspiration to become Prime Minister. He also said that if the opposition gets united, then a good atmosphere will be created.

He met RJD president, Lalu Prasad Yadav, before his Delhi visit.
