After the unprecedented halt of about one and a half years, educational institutions will reopen in Himachal Pradesh from August 2.
The State Cabinet held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur decided to open schools for 10th, 11th, and 12th classes with effect from 2 August.
The residential and partially residential schools would also open for these classes by following the Covid-19 protocols. The research scholars in Universities would be allowed as per the dates to be notified by the respective University authorities.
The cabinet decided that the students of the 5th and 8th classes would be allowed to visit schools for doubt clearances with effect from 2 August. It also decided that the coaching, tuition, and training institutions would also be allowed to function with effect from 26 July this year.
Furthermore, the Cabinet gave its consent to rename Government Senior Secondary School Hatwar in Bilaspur district as Shaheed Subedar Sanjeev Kumar Government Senior Secondary School Hatwar as a mark of respect to the martyr who had been awarded Kriti Chakra posthumously for his bravery.
The presentations were also made before the Cabinet on the Covid-19 situation in the State and the preparedness to tackle possible third wave of the pandemic. Some presentations also covered Board Results and UGC guidelines.
