ADM REVOKES world advisor immigration consultant’s licence

In a recent development, the Additional District Magistrate of Mohali, Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke, IAS, has exercised his powers under Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012 to cancel the licence of World Advisor Immigration Consultant Firm. The decision comes following the expiration of the firm’s consultancy licence, which was issued to Paramjit Kaur, a resident of Acme Height-1, Tehsil Kharar, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.

The firm, located at SCO. No. 665, 2nd Floor, Sector-70, Mohali, had been granted a licence for consultancy work, valid until February 25, 2023. Additional District Magistrate Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke disclosed that, in accordance with the Act and Rules for licence renewal, a notice had been duly issued to the licensee. The notice emphasised the requirement to submit the renewal application along with supporting documents two months in advance, and the licensee was directed to appear with the licence for an explanation.

Despite these efforts, the Additional Deputy Commissioner revealed that the letter sent by registered post to the office and residential addresses of World Advisor Immigration Consultant was returned with the remark ‘unclaimed.’ Subsequent attempts to elicit a response went unanswered over an extended period. Consequently, Licence No. 139/MC-2 2018 issued to the firm has been cancelled or revoked, citing a violation under the provisions of Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012, effective immediately.Additional Deputy Commissioner Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke emphasised that, as per the Act, the firm and its licensee, directors, or partners will bear responsibility for any complaints or issues arising from their previous consultancy services.

They are also liable to provide compensation where deemed necessary. This development underscores the importance of compliance with regulatory norms in the travel consultancy sector and serves as a reminder for practitioners to adhere to licensing requirements for the smooth operation of their businesses.
