AAP’s Raghav Chadha Organises Drive To Provide Employment, Develop Skills Among Residents

The Delhi government conducted a placement and skill development drive on Monday to bring more employment opportunities for the residents of Rajinder Nagar.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha organised the campaign with the help of the District Magistrate office in his constituency. Along with several large corporations, the event included two Self Help Groups (SHGs) from the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) skill centre.

So far, more than 200 people have applied for job openings, including school dropouts, class 12 pass, undergraduates, and technical diploma holders.

Along with several reputed companies, career counsellors and skilling partners were also part of the drive. RAP Infosystem Private Limited, Om Innovation Call Services Private Limited, Ghosh Khanna and Co, Even Cargo, Amar International Skill Training Partner, Radical Minds Family and others took part in the drive.

The range of jobs varied from data entry operations, credit card sales, branch relationship executive and so on. The SHGs, Radha Vallabh Parivar and Kalpana, which are part of NULM, were also present in the drive.

The programme was aimed at providing employees with minimum wage along with developing skills among youth and provide career consulting.

The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME), which provides training and technical support to the youth, also participated to promote the Vocal for Local mission. The scheme also offers a 35% subsidy on bank loans, as well as loans and subsidies for the establishment of new industries through the ODOP product. In Arya Samah Bhavan, registration commenced at 10:30 am.

Abhishek Bhattacharya, advisor to Raghav Chadha, told The Daily Guardian, “This is the second time we have arranged placement and skill development drive to this scale. In the past two years, we have arranged to provide jobs to at least 200-300 unemployed youth of the Rajinder Nagar constituency. We are committed to eradicating unemployment from Rajinder Nagar and we are hoping to reduce unemployment to the minimum in the next few years.”
