In a shocking incident, Gurpreet Singh, known as Gopi Chohla and a dedicated member of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was fatally shot by assailants in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Friday.
The attack occurred as Singh was en route to Kapurthala district for a court matter in his car, traveling alone. The assailants, who had been tailing Singh, seized the moment near the railway crossing between Fatehbad and Goindwal Sahib.
They unleashed a hail of gunfire on Singh before swiftly fleeing the scene. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravisher Singh and police personnel rushed to the site upon receiving the distressing news. Multiple police teams have been mobilized to apprehend the perpetrators as the community mourns the loss of a party member.
