AAP to attend opposition meeting in Bengaluru, says Raghav Chaddha

Following the Congress’ decision to reject the Centre’s law governing the management of administrative services in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated on Sunday that it will attend the second opposition party gathering, which will be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on July 17-18.

AAP MP Raghav Chaddha, while speaking to the media after the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting confirmed the same and said, “As Congress has also made its stand clear on the black ordinance, it is decided that the party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal will take part in the meeting of like-minded parties in Bengaluru on July 17-18.” The AAP called a PAC meeting of the party on Sunday.

The opposition meeting in Bengaluru is planned to unite the opposition in order to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party in the forthcoming general assembly elections in 2024.
Top leaders from at least 24 political parties are expected to attend Congress’s second Opposition unity meeting in Bengaluru.

Following the first Opposition meeting, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that it would be “very difficult” for it to join any alliance that included the grand old party unless the Congress formally condemned the law.

On Sunday, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal stated that the party’s position on the matter is “very clear,” and that the party will oppose it in parliament. On June 23, a massive opposition meeting was held in Bihar’s Patna. The AAP asked the Congress to clarify its position on the national government’s ordinance on the transfer and posting of group-A employees in Delhi.
