AAP slams Haryana govt over inadequate rain shelter, death

AAP State President Dr. Sushil Gupta criticized the Khattar government over the death of a youth in a poorly arranged rain shelter in a Roadways bus in Hisar. He stated that the cold is increasing, and the government has made no arrangements to protect the poor from the cold. Due to improper arrangements in the rain shelter made in a Roadways bus in Hisar, a person died. He said that the Khattar government is failing on every front in Haryana.

He mentioned that the government set up a rain shelter in a Roadways bus in Hisar, which lacks any facilities, leading to the death of a person due to the cold. He stated that the Haryana government is only involved in formality. The government has no concern for the public or their well-being. The poorly arranged rain shelter in a Roadways bus and its inconveniences has exposed the government.

He said that where the Haryana government has placed a Roadways bus on the road as a rain shelter, in Delhi, the AAP government has built well-equipped rain shelters with all amenities in various places. This includes blankets and all facilities, helping the government protect poor individuals from the cold.

He mentioned that in Delhi, free rain shelters have been built for poor labourers and those in need. Apart from regular rain shelters, the Delhi government has also established tented rain shelters to provide refuge for those who sleep on footpaths during the cold.
Observing the shivering cold, the Delhi government provides not only shelter but also morning and evening tea and meals in these rain shelters. This ensures that people not only stay warm but also do not go hungry.
