AAP ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resigned from their posts on Tuesday. The Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has accepted their resignation and now it will be sent to Delhi LG, VK Saxena.
The development comes two days after the arrest of Sisodia by the CBI officials in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Notably, the Deputy Chief Minister of the party was arrested on Sunday in an ongoing investigation of a case regarding the alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of the Delhi government.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain the Sisodia’s plea challenging his arrest in connection with the excise policy case. The apex court suggested the former deputy chief minister to move to Delhi High Court.
The court remarked that, “It can not interfere in the matter as it may open the gate of people approaching the top court in every such matter.” In another report, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Monday sent the former member of Aam Aadmi Party to CBI custody for approximately 5 days.
On the other hand, minister Satyendar Jain is sent to Tihar Jail in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy.
