AAP leader criticizes BJP for delaying municipal elections

Aam Aadmi Party’s senior state vice-president Anurag Dhanda criticized the BJP government this month as the terms of five municipal corporations concluded. He targeted the BJP government for not conducting municipal elections. He stated that the terms of five municipal corporations, namely Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, and Hisar, have ended this month. While the terms of Faridabad, Gurugram, and Manesar municipal corporations were completed quite some time ago. Currently, only Panchkula, Ambala City, and Sonipat municipal corporations are left in the 11 municipal corporations in Haryana.

Meanwhile, several municipal councils and municipalities have also completed their terms. He mentioned that the BJP is afraid to announce elections. The BJP is apprehensive about losing ground, and its leaders are losing confidence. While the Aam Aadmi Party is consistently gaining strength.

He pointed out that the terms of Faridabad, Gurugram, and Manesar municipal corporations were completed quite some time ago, and elections for these three have been delayed for an extended period. Additionally, the terms of Hisar, Panipat, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, and Karnal municipal corporations have also concluded. He stated that while one government claims that the delimitation process is complete, the election commission has stated that they haven’t received the delimitation yet. The BJP government fears defeat in municipal elections, which is why it is not conducting them. BJP leaders are afraid of facing the public.

He mentioned that the BJP is misleading the public, causing people to face difficulties. Many development projects are delayed due to the state government’s small size. He argued that the BJP government at both the national and state levels is moving towards authoritarianism. The Haryana BJP government does not seem interested in conducting elections.
