‘AAP Di Sarkar AAP De Dwar’ empowers 10,950 in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district has successfully assisted 10,950 individuals with various government services during the ongoing ‘AAP Di Sarkar AAP De Dwar’ camps, as announced by Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Monday.

Reviewing the progress of the camps with ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke and Assistant Commissioner (G) Davy Goyal at her office, Jain emphasized the importance of ensuring that every applicant is heard properly and provided with the service they have applied for on the spot.

She reported that 282 villages/urban wards have been covered under the ‘AAP Di Sarkar AAP De Dwar’ camps, and the target is to complete the camps by March 6, 2024. Mohali Sub Division aims to finish all villages and wards by March 4, Kharar by March 5, and Derabassi by March 6.

Jain highlighted the concept initiated by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, aiming to address government office-related problems at the doorstep of the citizens. The success of this initiative is evident from the substantial number of daily footfalls at the camps.

Most services sought by residents are related to the 44 services launched by the Punjab Chief Minister under the door-to-door delivery scheme. These services can be availed by dialing the toll-free number 1076. The camps also address citizen grievances, with various government personnel on hand. Sub Divisional Magistrates, Revenue Officers, BDPOs, and EOs personally visit the camps daily to monitor proceedings. About 16 departments in rural and 17 in urban camps have established windows to provide services to residents.

The services offered in the camps encompass birth and death certificates, SC, BC, OBC, and general caste certificates, monthly assistance schemes, marriage registration, affidavit attestation, inspection of revenue records, certified copies of registered and unregistered documents, non-encumbrance certificate, and more. Jain added that LED vans at the camps depict welfare schemes and public-oriented achievements. The success of these camps reflects the community’s active engagement and the effectiveness of the government’s doorstep service delivery approach.
