In connection with the meeting of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation to be held tomorrow. Dr. SS Ahluwalia, Chairman and co-in-charge of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Chandigarh, held a pre-house meeting with AAP councillors. Many councillors were present in this meeting.
During the meeting, there was an open discussion on all the agendas presented in the Municipal Corporation and how to address the problems of the city residents. Dr. Ahluwalia discussed all the issues of the city residents with the councilors one by one. He emphasised that all agendas for the welfare of the city residents need to be taken seriously, and concerted efforts should be made to resolve them. Dr. Ahluwalia pointed out that the city residents have been suffering from the wrong policies of the old political parties for a long time. The needs of the city residents must be understood, and every problem must be addressed.
In the meeting, Dr. Ahluwalia also discussed the upcoming elections for the new Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Deputy Mayor in the city. He informed all the councilors that they have the potential to become the mayor of the Municipal Corporation this time. This change will liberate the city residents from the dirty politics of old parties. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is committed to prioritising and fulfilling all the promises made to the city residents before the elections, ensuring comprehensive development of the city.
He highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party is the only party that prioritises education, health, anti-corruption, and overall development of the city. Other parties, he mentioned, are primarily focused on personal gains. As a result, the city residents are still deprived of basic facilities. Dr. Ahluwalia further emphasised that AAP has achieved significant milestones in Punjab and Delhi that the previous governments could not accomplish in 70 years.
