A 13-year-old boy at Sirsia’s Pandit Brahmadutt Higher Secondary School was killed by his teacher. Anupam Pathak, the accused, beat the youngster for failing to pay his school fees of Rs 250.
The horrifying event happened on August 8. The young victim, named Brijesh Kumar, was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries eight days later.
Police have registered a complaint against the teacher and are looking into it.
The victim’s older brother, claimed that he had been attending the school for the previous two months. He had already paid the fees for the first month, but the second month’s payment was put off while his brother, the family’s sole provider, was away at work. More information is awaited.

At the Sector 2 police station in Panchkula on Tuesday, the man who had been charged on August 9 turned himself up. The teacher was subsequently detained and sent to a nearby court. The court approved bail for him.
