9 killed, several injured after tourist bus falls into gorge in Nilgiris

According to authorities, at least nine persons were murdered when a tourist bus plummeted down a gorge in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris area on Saturday.
According to authorities, the bus was traveling from Coonoor to Tenkasi when it was involved in an accident. The passengers on the bus were coming home following an excursion in Ooty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the loss of life in the bus tragedy and prayed for the recovery of those injured.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Those injured would be given Rs 50,000,” Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) posted on X.
