A man who went on the attack in a Texas outlet mall on Saturday killed eight people before police perished the shooter, as per the authorities.
The gunfire sent consumers fleeing from Allen Premium Outlets, a large shopping complex located in Allen, 25 miles (40 km) north of Dallas. There was heavy rush in the mall due to the weekend.
Gunfire rang out in the mall around 3:30 pm (local time), while a police officer was there on an unrelated call; according to Allen police Chief Brian Harvey.
The shooter’s identity was kept a secret. Eight fatalities took place in this tragic incident at the mall then more police personnel arrived on the scene. Dead bodies were lying on the pavement.
“The condition of the three is critical and four are stable, Boyd, the fire chief, said.
A hospital official revealed to NBC News that some of the victims were as young as five years old.
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, referred to the massacre as an “unspeakable tragedy.
President Joe Biden “has been briefed on the shooting,” a White House representative told journalists.
Local officials praised the police personnel’s action for charging the shooter and killing the shooter.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to first responders that ran toward the gunfire and acted swiftly to neutralize the threat,” said Keith Self, a Republican Congressman whose district includes the city of Allen.
Video footage shared by CNN made it clear that the shooter got out of a vehicle in the parking space of the mall, and started incessant firing which led to the casualties.
