4.6 magnitude earthquake jolts Afghanistan

On Sunday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter Scale struck Fayzabad, Afghanistan, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

On Sunday at 13:57 IST, an earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Fayzabad. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 105 kilometers, according to the NCS.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.3, Occurred on 21-05-2023, 13:57:12 IST, Lat: 37.37 & Long: 72.01, Depth: 105 Km, Location: 132km ENE of Fayzabad,” tweeted NCS.

This is the second earthquake to strike within four days of the first. The most recent quake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, occurred on Thursday in Fayzabad, Afghanistan, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

On Thursday, at 19:38:02 IST, an earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Fayzabad. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 164 kilometers, according to the NCS.
