31,505 cases settled at National Lok Adalat

31,505 cases settled at National Lok Adalat

In National Lok Adalat held in 13 Districts in Haryana 46,469 cases were taken up and 31505 cases were disposed of at pre-litigative stage. Total amount of Rs. 8,23,11,630/- were settled. That apart, 151258 pending cases were taken up and out of 85244 cases were decided. Total amount of Rs. 73,36,71,641/- were settled. A total of of 116749 cases both at pre litigative stage and pending stage were settled thereby settling total amount of Rs. 81,59,83,271/- between the parties. That apart, Debt Recovery Tribunal-2 (DRT-2) has conducted National Lok Adalat today and 83 cases were decided out of 100 cases and amount of Rs.35,15,00,000/- were settled. The District Consumer Forums situated in 13 Districts where National Lok Adalat held on Sunday have organized National Lok Adalat and 138 cases were decided out of 778 cases and amount of Rs.13,31,710/-settled.
Haryana State Legal Services Authority organized its 4th and last National Lok Adalat of the year under the guidance of Justice Augustine George Masih, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman, Haryana State Legal Services Authority across the State of Haryana. The National Lok Adalat was organized in 13 Districts namely Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Mewat, Narnaul, Panchkula, Panipat, Palwal, Yamuna Nagar including their Sub-Divisions and in remaining 09 Districts namely Sonepat, Sirsa, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Karnal, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram and Ambala, National Lok Adalat will be held on 26.11.2022 due to implementation of Code of Conduct in view of ongoing elections of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti. Total 116749 cases were settled pertaining to “Civil, Criminal, Matrimonial, Bank Recovery, etc” including the cases of Permanent Lok Adalats (Public Utility Services) working in the ADR Centres out of 197727. 60 % of cases have been settled in total. The purpose of holding National Lok Adalat is to facilitate a platform to the litigants to settle their disputes amicably. On the day of National Lok Adalat, Justice Augustine George Masih, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman, HALSA monitored the Lok Adalats through video conferencing in aforementioned 13 Districts. Lordship interacted with the Benches and gave guidelines to the Benches.
Hon’ble Justice Augustine George Masih has conveyed his best wishes for successful National Lok Adalat and congratulated all the benches for making their best efforts in disposing maximum number of cases for today’s National Lok Adalat. His Lordship has called upon to settle maximum number of cases through National Lok Adalat as it is an effective alternative dispute resolution method for ensuring quick and final consensual disposal of cases binding on the parties without incurring any extra cost or fees.
