The four-day annual conference of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) concluded on Sunday in Jaipur. With over 800 interventional radiology professionals participating from 23 countries, including India, the USA, the UK, Singapore, Italy, Japan, and more, the event proved to be a global platform for knowledge exchange.
Hosted at Hotel Fair Mount, the conference featured more than 100 sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, providing a comprehensive exploration of advanced treatments in interventional radiology. Over 200 speakers, including foreign experts, shared their experiences during the event. The sessions covered diverse topics such as Pain Management in Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional, Cardiovascular, Interventional Oncology, and other cutting-edge advancements.
Dr. (Prof) Suyash Kulkarni, Chairman of ISVIR and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, highlighted the organization’s goal to educate more doctors in the country and make advanced technology accessible for cost-effective treatment.
He emphasized the potential of interventional radiology in treating serious diseases like cancer without major surgery. Dr. Kulkarni expressed optimism about the technology’s future adoption in smaller cities across India.
The workshops included live demonstrations where local and foreign experts taught life support skills to students.
Discussions during the conference covered a range of topics, from vascular interventions to stroke management and advanced technologies for fast recovery and comfort.
