18-year-old JEE aspirant dies in Kota after studying overnight

A coaching student died suspiciously in Kota. 18-year-old student Atharva, son of Abhishek, a resident of Bihar, was preparing for JEE entrance by staying in a PG in Kota Talwandi area with his mother. According to the police, the 18-year-old student studied all night on Saturday and slept after having breakfast in the morning. During this time, he also took a pill. When his mother woke him up at around 2 pm in the afternoon, foam was coming out of his mouth. The family immediately took him to a private hospital where the doctor declared him dead. The doctor said that he had died much before being brought here.
His body was kept in the mortuary of Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital. On Monday, after his uncle reached and gave a written statement that he would not get the post-mortem done, the body was handed over to the family without a post-mortem. The family left for Bihar with the body. The deceased student was preparing for JEE by staying in Kota for two years.
PG owner Sanjay said that the coaching student was staying with his mother. He studied all night on Saturday and in the morning, he said that he was feeling hungry, so she made him breakfast. Atharva was being treated for a condition affecting his head. He had breakfast at 8 am on Sunday and took a pill and then went to his room and slept. At around 2 pm in the afternoon his mother woke him up, but when he did not wake up, his mother informed him about it on the phone. He himself reached there and took Atharva to a private hospital. In the hospital, the doctor informed that he had died of a silent attack two hours ago.

Atharva, the only son of his family, had been preparing for the JEE entrance exam in Kota after moving from Bihar. His father, Abhishek Ranjan, resides in Dubai. When inquiries were made, Atharva’s uncle arrived in Kota and provided a written statement requesting that no post-mortem be conducted, opting instead to take the body to Patna.

When his family woke him up in the afternoon, he was yawning and unresponsive. They rushed him to a private hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was placed in the hospital mortuary, and on Monday, his uncle Ayush Ranjan arrived to formally decline a post-mortem.
He claimed that Atharva had been suffering from a condition in his head for which he was receiving treatment. Dr Hansraj, an Assistant Professor in the Cardiology Department at Kota Medical College, noted that the true cause of the student’s death could only be determined through an autopsy.
