152 TRAINEES COMPLETE MAAC XXXII COURSE SUCCESSFULLY

152 trainees of Merged Artificer Apprentice Course (MAAC) XXXII successfully completed professional ab-initio training of 117 weeks at INS Shivaji, the premier Marine Engineering Training Establishment of the Indian Navy. Merged Artificer Apprentice Course XXXII included 139 trainees of Indian Navy, three trainees of Coast Guard and 10 international trainees from friendly foreign Countries namely Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Mauritius and Tanzania. Despite COVID-19 imposed restrictions during the training phase, the trainees underwent rigorous training on Diesel Engine, Gas Turbine, Steam Propulsion equipment and auxiliary machineries. Thorough hands on training on various condition monitoring equipment, simulators and machinery control tool, the young trainees have been transformed into adept technical professionals.

The trainees also participated in various outbound activities like sports events, Camp ‘JOSHILLA’ and day treks to various historical forts. The Course Completion Ceremony was held last week and was reviewed by Cmde Arvind Rawal, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji.Desetty Seshagiri, LME of Merged Artificer Apprentice Course (MAAC) XXXII stood ‘First in the Overall Order of Merit’ amongst other trainees of the Indian Navy by securing 88.28% and Ashutosh Karjeee, ERA/APP was adjudged ‘Best Sportsman’ of the Course and was awarded Commodore’s Rolling Trophy. George Appiah, PO II from Ghana Navy of Merged Artificer Apprentice Course (MAAC) XXXII stood ‘First in the Overall Order of Merit’ amongst other trainees of friendly foreign countries.
