14th Annual Prize Distribution Function held at GCCBA, Chandigarh

The 14th Annual Prize Distribution Function took place today at the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh. It was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kaushik, a distinguished figure in academia serving as a Professor at University Business School, Panjab University. Dr. Kaushik also serves as the Dean of the College Development Council and holds the position of Honorary Director at the ICSSR-North Western Regional Centre in Chandigarh.

Welcoming Dr. Kaushik was the Principal of the College, Dr. Sangam Kapoor, along with Dr. Amar Preet Singh Sijher, the Dean, Dr. V. Magesh, the Vice Principal, Dr. Bikramjit Kaur, the Bursar, and the staff of the college. Dr. Sangam Kapoor, in her capacity as the Principal, presented the Annual Report of the college, eloquently outlining the significant achievements of the staff and students throughout the academic session of 2023-2024.

In his address, Dr. Sanjay Kaushik underscored the importance of cultivating life skills and values alongside academic pursuits. His emphasis on holistic education resonated with the audience, highlighting the imperative of preparing students not only for their professional endeavors but also for the challenges and opportunities life presents beyond the classroom.

This holistic approach reinforces the intrinsic value of hard work and perseverance in attaining success, encapsulating both academic excellence and personal growth. 17 students were awarded with the Roll of Honour for their exceptional contributions in academics, sports, and cultural activities, while 41 students were awarded the prestigious College Colour, and 68 students received the Certificate of Merit for their outstanding achievements in various spheres including academics, sports, NSS, and co-curricular activities.

Concluding the event on a note of gratitude, Dr. V. Magesh, Registrar (Examination), extended heartfelt congratulations to all the students for their remarkable accomplishments. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the Indian National Anthem, symbolizing unity and pride in the achievements of the institution and its students.
