A day after the announcement of Gujarat Assembly elections, the dates for MCD elections has been announced. The voting for MCD election in Delhi is scheduled on 4 December and counting of votes will take place on 7 December.
“The issue of notification will be on Nov 7 and will end on Nov 14. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is November 19. Voting for the polls will be on December 4 and the results will be announced on December 7,” said Vijay Dev, Delhi State Election Commissioner.
For the past 15 years, BJP has been in the power in the civic bodies. The party emerged victorious initially in2007 when MCD was unified. BJP also won the 2012 and 2017 elections after the trifurcation of MCD.
