13-year-old’s murder in Tonk sparks outrage

A distressing incident has surfaced in Tonk, Rajasthan, where a 13-year-old student was brutally murdered. The community was shaken when the student’s lifeless body was discovered hanging in a well. Local villagers promptly alerted the police about the gruesome incident.
Upon receiving the report, the police swiftly arrived at the crime scene, taking custody of the body for post-mortem examination. A search dog from Jaipur has been enlisted by the police to aid in the investigation. Authorities are determined to apprehend the perpetrators and unravel the details of this tragic murder.
The incident unfolded in Nawabpura village within the Mehandwas police station jurisdiction in Tonk district. Pappulal Meena, a resident and farmer with three daughters and one son, disclosed that his son, Amarish, an eighth-grade student, left home on his bicycle in the evening, mentioning his intention to gather berries from the field. Concern arose when Amarish failed to return home by 8 pm, prompting relatives to search the field.
To their dismay, they discovered Amarish’s lifeless body tied with a rope, hanging in the well, with foam emanating from his mouth. The shocking sight left family members and villagers in disbelief. The police were promptly notified of the incident. In addition to the Mehandwas police station, the DSP and SP also reached the site. Following an examination by the FSL team under official supervision, it was revealed that Amarish had no apparent enmity with anyone. His father, Pappu Lal, speculated that the motive behind the murder might be linked to something the boy witnessed in the field or nearby.
Tonk Police Superintendent Rajrishi Raj commented that the case seems to be a clear instance of murder. Despite extensive search operations conducted by five police teams in the fields and nearby forests throughout the night, no significant leads were found. A search dog from Jaipur has been enlisted to aid in the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, the bereaved family has been assured of the government’s support through compensation and a commitment to solving the murder case.
