A 10-year-old girl passed away from suspected food poisoning after consuming a cake during her birthday celebration in Punjab last week. According to her grandfather, the entire family, including her younger sister, became ill after eating the cake, which was ordered online from a bakery in Patiala.
The girl, named Manvi, was captured on video cutting the cake and enjoying the celebration with her family on social media just hours before her tragic demise. The family reported that she began experiencing symptoms shortly after consuming the cake, including vomiting and extreme thirst.
Despite being rushed to the hospital the following morning and receiving medical attention, Manvi did not survive. The family has accused the bakery, ‘Cake Kanha’, of including a harmful substance in the chocolate cake.
An FIR has been lodged against the bakery owner, and investigations, including a postmortem examination and testing of cake samples, are ongoing.
