According to a Bihar official on Thursday, at least 10 people are still missing after a boat capsized in the Bagmati River in Muzaffarpur. The official added that 15-20 people had so far been saved. “There is information of 10 persons missing, 15-20 persons rescued so far. Search operation underway,” said Ajay Kumar, Disaster Management officer, Muzaffarpur while speaking to the reporters.
“The incident took place between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. today. Teams of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) rushed to the accident site”, added Kumar.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, promised to help the affected families. Further details are awaited.
