MAMATA VISITING DELHI, WILL MEET PM NEXT WEEK

A few days ago, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters at a press conference in Nabanna that she would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi whenever she visits Delhi. Finally, on Thursday, Banerjee said that Prime Minister had given her an appointment. However, Mamata has not yet said when she will meet PM Modi.

“I will go for 2-3 days (to Delhi). I have been given time to meet with President, Prime Minister, I will meet them. I have also got requests from political leaders. I will try to accommodate,” Mamata Banerjee said.

According to Trinamool sources, Mamata may go to Delhi on the 26th of this month. She may leave Kolkata for Delhi by a three o’clock flight that day.

The Chief Minister would stay in Delhi on 27th, 28th and 29th, and after completing all her programmes, she would likely return to Kolkata from the capital on the 30th, a source said.

“I go to Delhi once every year when the parliament convenes,” Mamata told a news conference in Nabanna, on Thursday. Mamata did not go to Delhi after winning the vote this time because of the pandemic situation.

“I will go to Delhi once. However, I have not yet decided when I will leave,” she said.

“I will meet the Prime Minister and the President when I have time,” the Chief Minister added.

Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee’s trip to Delhi has triggered a buzz of the Trinamool Congress chief’s national ambition.

TMC supremo’s visit is being seen as an attempt to animate the disjointed Opposition to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) juggernaut in 2024, when the next Lok Sabha elections are scheduled.
