The opposition has launched a blistering attack on the center over the controversy triggered by the NEET examination results on Sunday.

The DMK, which has been against NEET since its inception, has questioned National Testing Agency for finishing exam’s credibility and alleged, that centre is acting like a ‘spectator’ and continue to back coaching centres.

Besides DMK, other opposition parties like congress and TMC, have also questioned the ruling over this issue.

The congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that ‘scam in NEET’, has destroyed the lives of almost 24 lakhs students and its families. Other congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Vadra also made similar arguments, saying that it is due to Centre’s carelessness, that future of 24 lakhs students is in jeopardy.

The general secretary of the party Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, asserted, that education minister’s ‘arrogant response’ continues to disregard the cries of 24 lakh students and their families.

Meanwhile, other INDIA parties like RJD also took a jibe on BJP over NEET results protests. Leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejaswi Yadav said, that paper leaks are ‘inevitable,’ where BJP is in centre or at power in the state.

Later, the TMC leader and West Bengal’s education minister Bratya Basu asserted, that centre has the time to launch an investigation in teaching recruitment scam. But when it comes to NEET-UG scam, the centre is silent on its investigation.

‘But it is silent on probing the irregularities in NEET-UG, which affected the future careers of lakhs of aspiring doctors across the country’.

What is the NEET-UG Results Controversy About?

In The Aftermath of the medical examination result announcement on May 5, many students alleged, that paper has been leaked, as many as 67 students acquired the full marks of 720/720. Thus, resulting in the huge rise in the cut-off. With many in tension, whether they will get a medical seat or not.

Later, the controversy of grace marks also came into the fore, as significant number of students were given grace marks to make up for the loss of time at exam centre.

Resulting in another allegation, that marks were inflated. Currently, the matter is pending before the supreme court, and as announced by the centre, it has revoked the grace marks, which were given to 1,563 students.

In addition, they have given them the option to either take re-test or reject grace marks. However, some students are still not satisfied with this solution, saying it isn’t enough and exam should be reconducted for everyone.
