The Operation Cell team has apprehended a bike thief and seized 5 stolen motorcycles in Chandigarh. The arrested suspect is identified as Simranjeet Singh, also known as “Sabbi,” a resident of Sector-52, Pukka Colony, Chandigarh. Currently, he resides in Dhillon Complex, Gram Kumbra, Sector-68, Mohali, Punjab.
The police recovered 4 Splendor motorcycles and one Pulsar motorcycle from the suspect’s possession. Simranjeet Singh, a 12th-grade pass, works at a private hospital in Chandigarh, specialising in patient care. He has around half a dozen cases registered against him in Chandigarh and Haryana. The case of bike theft at Sector-39 Police Station was filed based on a complaint by Sohan Lal, a resident of Sector-40 C, Chandigarh. DSPOPS Jasbir Singh and Inspector Sher Singh, in charge of the Operation Cell, provided information about the operation.
They mentioned that the Operation Cell team arrested the suspect in connection with bike theft cases and recovered stolen bikes. The police received confidential information that the suspect was involved in the theft and was attempting to sell the stolen bikes. Based on this information, Simranjeet Singh was apprehended at his residence in Sector-52, Pukka Colony, Chandigarh. During the operation, an unnumbered Splendor motorcycle was recovered from the suspect. Upon further questioning, the suspect admitted to stealing four additional bikes. All the recovered motorcycles were found to be without number plates. They had been stolen from various locations in Chandigarh UT.
