Online applications for a solar water pumping system with a 75 percent subsidy under the PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Scheme, facilitated by the Haryana Government, can be submitted on the saralharyana.gov.in portal from January 19 to January 29, 2024. A spokesperson stated that essential documents such as land records, Aadhaar card, family ID, and an undertaking letter are required for the online application.
Farmers without connections to solar or electricity-based pumps on their Parivar Pehchan Patra are eligible to apply. The state government, through the PM-KUSUM scheme, aims to empower farmers with solar energy for irrigation. Applications are invited for solar pumps ranging from 3 HP to 10 HP, and the selection of beneficiaries for the current year will be based on the family’s annual income and land ownership.
After the selection of beneficiaries, applicants can visit the PM-KUSUM portal (https://pmkusum.hareda.gov.in) to choose a government-listed company for price determination. The spokesperson emphasized that, according to a survey by the Haryana Water Resources Authority, villages with groundwater levels below 100 feet must install micro-irrigation systems, while other farmers should opt for underground pipelines or micro-irrigation systems.
Farmers engaged in rice cultivation with fields having a groundwater level below 40 meters, as per the H.W.R.A report, are not eligible for this scheme. For more information, visit the department’s website at hareda.gov.in or contact the respective district additional deputy commissioner’s office, the spokesperson added.
