Kashmir: Marking the fifth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday underscored the significant strides made by the Union Territory in various sectors, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to inclusive development and social equality.

“Guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have sustained the flame of inclusive development and social equality, brightening J&K’s journey over the past five years,” LG Sinha stated.

He highlighted the gradual return of enduring peace to the region, attributing this achievement to the collective efforts of all citizens. The past five years, according to Sinha, have witnessed democracy taking firm roots in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The enthusiastic participation and record voter turnout in the recently held Lok Sabha elections are a testament to the people’s faith in the constitution and the internalization of the spirit of democracy. J&K’s overall economy has been growing at an impressive pace,” LG Sinha noted. He pointed out that the rapid growth and transformation in health, education, public works, urban and rural development, and power sectors over the past five years are unprecedented in the Union Territory’s history. He further emphasized the empowerment of economically deprived sections.

Reflecting on the post-August 2019 period, Sinha remarked on the remarkable contributions of women, youth, farmers, and entrepreneurs in nation-building. “Today, J&K is witnessing an era of peace, progress, and prosperity. The region is undoubtedly on a progressive march,” he asserted.

The Lieutenant Governor detailed the substantial progress made in infrastructure development, tourism, industrialization, social security, employment generation, livelihood creation, public outreach, transparency, and the provision of basic facilities. This comprehensive development approach, he said, underscores the administration’s dedication to improving the quality of life for all residents.

In conclusion, LG Manoj Sinha’s address on the significant milestone of the Article 370 rollback painted a picture of a region on the rise, characterized by peace, growth, and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and social equity.
