Actor Zakir Hussain plays a pivotal role in late legendary actors Om Puri and Jagdeep Jaffrey’s last film ‘Omprakash Zindabad’ which released on 18 December in theatres under the banner of Panorama Studios and directed by Ranjeet Gupta. Talking about his role and the film, he shared, “I’m playing a corrupt politician in the film with a comic flavour. It is based on the corrupt political system and I’m playing the head local MLA. I’m grateful that the film finally released in theatres as it was on hold for a long time. This film deals with the Victim Compensation Act under section 357A and how a common man doesn’t receive any help.” On working with Om Puri and Jagdeep Jaffrey, he said “Om Puri ji and Jagdeep are an institution in themselves. Though they are not among us, I’m sure they would be happy about the film. Sharing screen space with them is a great opportunity. We used to sit and spent some great times with Om ji as we were from the same institution. He was my senior. We have grown up seeing him, so working with him really feels great.” The film also stars Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Ishtiyak Khan, Seema Azmi, Shweta B h a r d w a j , R a m Sethi, and Rajkumar Kanaujia.
