Nurse Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Foreign National At Gurgaon Hospital

A nursing attendant at Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 50-year-old foreign national who had recently undergone surgery at the hospital. According to police reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday following the surgical procedure.

The accused, identified as Thakur Singh (25) from Tijara, Rajasthan, had been employed as a nursing attendant at the hospital for over a year, stated DCP East Mayank Gupta.

“The woman had come for treatment with her daughter and underwent surgery. Later, while her diaper was being changed in the ward, the attendant allegedly touched her inappropriately. Initially, she did not report it, thinking it was a mistake. However, when the behavior was repeated multiple times during the day, she informed her daughter, who then notified the police. The complaint was filed on Sunday, leading to his arrest,” explained ACP (East) Rishikant.

The FIR has been filed under BNS section 64(2)(e) at sector 50 police station, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

Responding to the incident, Artemis Hospital released a statement affirming their commitment to patient safety. It read, “Artemis Hospital always prioritizes the safety of its patients. In light of these allegations, we are ensuring a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure fairness and uphold truth and justice. The individual in question has been temporarily relieved of duty pending investigation.”
