Schools and educational institutions reopened in Nuh on Friday after being closed due to violent incidents. The district administration has stated that the curfew will be lifted today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to Ravinder Jain, Principal of Model Sanskriti Sr. Sec. School, some primary kids have returned to school, but upper-grade students have not.

“Some students of the primary section have come however the higher grade students are not coming. Students who are participating in the 15th August program have also come. This is a good move by the administration,” he said.

On August 11, District Magistrate Dhirendra Khadgata issued an order easing the curfew for public movement from 07.00 am to 03.00 pm (8.00 hours only). Banks have received a different order.

Clashes between two factions erupted in Nuh district after a religious procession going through the district was attacked, killing two home guards and injuring dozens of people, including roughly 20 police officers, in the ensuing frenzy of violence.

The district magistrate’s ruling also states that anyone found in violation of the curfew would face punishment under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and all other applicable provisions. It said that Superintendent of Police Nuh would oversee the appropriate implementation of these measures.
