The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) celebrated its 54th Foundation Day at its New Delhi headquarters, an event that also saw the passage of significant resolutions during a National Office Bearers meeting.

Amidst the celevration , the NSUI addressed a recent financial setback by launching the “NSUI Support Fund,” a direct funding initiative to counteract the debits incurred from the Income Tax office on their membership funds. This strategic move ensures the uninterrupted support of student programs and activities. The NSUI’s 54th Foundation Day not only marks over half a century of student advocacy but also heralds a new chapter of expanded support and global presence for the organization. In an unprecedented initiative, the NSUI unveiled “NSUI Overseas,” dedicated to supporting the Indian student diaspora pursuing academics abroad. This program promises to offer a suite of services, including academic guidance, career counseling, and advocacy for the rights and interests of Indian students on foreign soil.

NSUI National President Varun Choudhary highlighted the organization’s commitment to abolishing the controversial agnipath scheme, advocating instead for the provision of permanent army positions to 1.5 lakh young aspirants, thereby reinforcing the NSUI’s dedication to national service.

Reflecting on his political origins, Member of Parliament Ajay Maken expressed deep pride in his roots within the NSUI, underscoring the organization’s role in shaping future leaders. On this ocassion, NSUI National Incharge Kanhaiya Kumar rallied the members with a call to action, urging them to champion student rights during a critical juncture for the nation.
