India’s National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, met with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Friday to discuss ongoing bilateral economic cooperation between the two nations. The meeting took place at the Presidential Secretariat, with senior officials from both sides in attendance, including Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Advisor to the Sri Lankan President on National Security.

Doval’s visit to Sri Lanka coincides with his participation in the Colombo Security Conclave, which commenced today. The Conclave brings together National Security Advisors and Deputy NSAs from India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Mauritius, with Bangladesh and the Seychelles participating as observers. The forum focuses on key regional issues such as maritime security, counter-terrorism, and cyber security, with India highlighting its strategic interests in the Indian Ocean region.
