Kristen Fischer, an American content creator living in Delhi, has outlined ten significant lifestyle adjustments she has made since moving to India two years ago. Fischer, who works at SkyFish Development, shared her transformative experience on social media, drawing considerable attention.

“My life has changed in many ways since coming to India. It definitely took an adjustment time coming here, but now I love my life in India and wouldn’t have it any other way,” Fischer stated.

One of the most significant shifts has been adopting a vegetarian diet, driven by both ethical and health considerations. Embracing India’s rich vegetarian culture, Fischer has fully transitioned to a plant-based diet.

Fischer has also incorporated traditional Indian clothing into her wardrobe, favoring lightweight cotton kurtas suited for Delhi’s climate. Additionally, she has grown accustomed to using public transportation, finding Delhi’s metro system more efficient compared to the limited options in the U.S.

A daily cup of chai has become a cherished part of Fischer’s routine, offering her a comforting break during the day. She has also chosen to send her children to private schools in India, appreciating the affordability and quality of education provided by these institutions.

Fischer has adjusted to eating with her hands, a practice she initially struggled with but now believes enhances the taste of Indian cuisine. Learning and regularly using Hindi has been crucial for her in navigating life in Delhi.

Fischer has noticed a shift in her approach to household chores, now performing many tasks manually, contrasting with her previous gadget-heavy routines in the U.S. She was initially hesitant about using a bidet but now prefers it for its cleanliness and efficiency. “At first, I was reluctant to use the toilet sprayer, but now I am never going back. It is cleaner, easier, and just overall better. It is definitely something done right in India,” she remarked.

Fischer’s video, which has amassed over 1.7 million views, has resonated with viewers who appreciated her candid reflections on the differences between Indian and American lifestyles.
