Trump Criticizes Biden and Harris Over Hurricane Helene Situation

Former President Donald Trump has recently intensified his criticism of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris regarding their handling of Hurricane Helene. In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his frustration over the federal response to the disaster, particularly concerning the state of North Carolina, which has faced significant devastation due to the storm.

Allegations of Neglect Towards North Carolina

Trump stated that the people of North Carolina feel neglected by both Harris and Biden, alleging that a majority of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds are being allocated to undocumented immigrants instead of residents affected by the hurricane. He labeled the federal response as “the WORST rescue operation in the history of the U.S.” and criticized the allocation of billions of dollars to foreign countries. “NORTH CAROLINA HAS BEEN VIRTUALLY ABANDONED BY KAMALA!!! DROP HER LIKE SHE DROPPED YOU – VOTE FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP. MAGA2024!” he declared.

Recent Government Actions

In contrast, Harris made a recent visit to Augusta, Georgia, to evaluate the damage caused by the hurricane, while Biden approved a request from Governor Brian Kemp for complete reimbursement of local cleanup costs. FEMA is set to provide $750 to individuals facing immediate needs, a sum many have criticized as inadequate given the scale of the destruction.

Harris Under Fire for Response to the Disaster

Trump further criticized Harris in another post, claiming, “THE RESPONSE TO THE HURRICANE BY LYIN’ KAMALA HARRIS IS NOW RATED THE WORST STORM RESPONSE IN HISTORY.” He suggested that states such as North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama would respond by voting for him. “We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.

Accusations of Staging and Delayed Action

Harris has faced ongoing scrutiny for her response to the hurricane. Recently, she was accused of staging a photo op during a briefing on the hurricane’s impact, as critics pointed out that her earbuds appeared to be unplugged. Her visit to Georgia has also been criticized, with many social media users arguing that her response came too late, suggesting that quicker action could have alleviated the suffering of those affected.
