Tension at Hard Rock Casino: Two Explosive Devices Found Prompting Emergency Evacuation

The Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, was the focus of a bomb scare that prompted an evacuation over the weekend after two explosive devices were found on the premises. The Seminole Police Department has partnered with the FBI to investigate this alarming incident.

The first device, described as a “crude concealed device with fireworks components,” was discovered in a men’s restroom adjacent to the casino just before midnight on Sunday, September 29. Thanks to the prompt assistance of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Team, the device was quickly deactivated.

As the investigation unfolded, part of the casino was evacuated, allowing the casino to reopen around 3 AM after the first device was safely removed. However, the situation escalated again on Monday, September 30, when a second concealed explosive was found in a men’s restroom located in the mezzanine area. This discovery led to another evacuation as authorities worked to deactivate and remove the second device.

The Seminole Police Department is now collaborating with the FBI to gather leads, including reviewing surveillance footage from the casino.

By Monday afternoon, all areas of the Seminole Hard Rock Casino had resumed normal operations, indicating that any potential threats had been successfully neutralized.
