Pakistan Invites Controversial Islamic Preacher Zakir Naik For Lecture Series

Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, an Indian by birth, has been invited by Pakistan to deliver a series of public lectures in several cities, including Karachi. Naik shared this news via his social media platforms.

Zakir Naik, known for his divisive rhetoric, will deliver lectures in three Pakistani cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. His lecture tour is set to begin on October 5 in Karachi, followed by Lahore, and will conclude in Islamabad on October 20.

According to a prominent Pakistani daily, Naik’s lecture in Karachi will center around “the purpose of our life,” while his second lecture, titled “Kya Quran ko Samajh Kar Parhna Zaroori Hai?” (Is it important to understand the Quran while reading?), will be delivered in Lahore.

Who is Zakir Naik?

Zakir Naik is a controversial Islamic preacher who fled India in 2016 and sought refuge in Malaysia after being accused of promoting hatred and facing money laundering charges. Known for his provocative speeches, Naik will be accompanied by his son, Fariq Naik, during his Pakistan lecture tour.

Kiren Rijiju Criticizes Zakir Naik for Misleading Statements

Recently, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized Zakir Naik for spreading “false propaganda and misleading people” about the Waqf Amendment Bill. Rijiju stated, “Please do not mislead the innocent Muslims from outside our country.” He emphasized that India allows free expression but warned that “False propaganda will lead to wrong narratives.”

Amid the Waqf Bill controversy, Naik urged Muslims in India to oppose the bill through a social media post, saying, “Save Indian Waqf Properties, Reject The Waqf Amendment Bill!” He shared a QR code, calling on people to submit their opposition to the Joint Parliamentary Committee before the September 13 deadline. Naik stressed the urgency of rejecting the bill, urging Muslims to “Say no to the Waqf Amendment Bill!”
