New Analysis: Harris And Trump Plans Would Increase US Deficit

A fresh analysis by the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget suggests that both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump’s economic strategies could cause a significant rise in the national debt over the next 10 years.

Harris’s Economic Impact

According to the analysis, a Harris presidency could increase the national debt by $3.5 trillion. Her policies focus on expanding public services and social programs, which experts believe will be costly but potentially beneficial in the long term.

Trump’s Economic Strategy

Trump’s economic ideas could potentially raise the national debt by $7.5 trillion, with estimates reaching as high as $15.2 trillion. His plans include tax cuts and military spending, both of which would require significant government borrowing.

Criticism of Trump’s False Claims on Federal Aid

Vice President Kamala Harris criticized Donald Trump for spreading false information regarding the federal response to Hurricane Helene, calling his claims “extraordinarily irresponsible.” Trump falsely claimed that the federal government was withholding aid from Republican disaster victims, a statement Harris said undermines relief efforts.

Trump Courts Polish-American Voters

Donald Trump recently appeared on Polish TV, praising Poland’s President Andrzej Duda. This move is part of Trump’s strategy to win over Polish-American voters in key states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—states crucial to his 2024 campaign.

Vance Speaks at Pro-Israel Rally

JD Vance, Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, headlined a rally commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Vance emphasized strong U.S.-Israel relations and condemned the attack, calling for ongoing American support for Israel.

Election Day Voting Changes in North Carolina

North Carolina has enacted changes to aid voters affected by Hurricane Helene. New provisions allow voters in 13 western counties to submit absentee ballots on Election Day and pick up ballots in person. These changes are seen as critical in a key battleground state.

Trump Claims Popularity in Israel

Donald Trump claimed during a radio interview that he could run for office in Israel due to his strong support among conservative Jewish voters. He emphasized that his policies have always benefited Israel, citing his administration’s sale of military equipment to the country.
