Lebanese News Anchor Emotional On Air As She Announces Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah's Death VIDEO
A Lebanes ibroadcasting news anchor from Al-Mayadeen television channel was visibly upset while reporting on the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday. Within hours of confirmation by Hezbollah that Nasrallah had died after an Israeli airstrike hit Beirut, the news came.
The live anchor was really struggling to maintain her composure as she spoke out the news about the death of Nasrallah, while her voice was breaking. Al-Mayadeen tends to be described as pro-Hezbollah in its point of view.
He had been leading Hezbollah since the early 1990s, turning the movement into a serious political and military force. Nasrallah was one of the key allies of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei with Hezbollah being at the center of Tehran’s network of proxy forces in the Middle East-branded the “axis of resistance” against Israel and the United States.
“Nasrallah was one of the most dangerous enemies of the State of Israel in history. his liquidation makes the world a safer place,” Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a TV address.
Iran said it will retaliate, signaling that the recent attacks on Hezbollah will not go unanswered. The problem is that Tehran has not confirmed if it would follow its ally and attack Israel. This April, Iran mounted a direct assault on Israel, firing hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones, most of which were intercepted.
The killing occurs as tensions between Hezbollah and Israel flare up in the wake of the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. With his death, it remains to be seen whether Nasrallah would have been able to assure Hezbollah’s survival and prevent further military steps by the West, including a possible Israeli strike against the Shi’ite militant group. Nasrallah, whose Hezbollah movement is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States and several other Western countries, promised to continue to resist against Israel.
