Iran Urges UNSC Intervention as Tensions Rise Over Nasrallah’s Assassination by Israel

Iran has declared that it will not hesitate to use its rights under international law to safeguard its national and security interests. This statement follows the killing of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah by Israeli forces. In response, Iran has called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to address Israel’s actions in Lebanon and the broader region.

Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s UN ambassador, sent an official letter to the 15-member council, urging them to take action and warning against any attacks on Iran’s diplomatic missions and representatives. He emphasized the principle of diplomatic inviolability and asserted that Iran would not tolerate further aggression. Iravani stressed that Iran would exercise its inherent rights under international law to protect its vital interests.

As tensions escalate in the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Beirut has issued a travel advisory, urging Indian nationals to exercise caution and avoid traveling to Lebanon.
