Iran Rejects G7 Condemnation Of Missile Strikes On Israel As Biased

Iran has dismissed the Group of Seven (G7) condemnation of its recent missile attacks on Israel, labeling the statement “biased and irresponsible.” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks on Thursday following Iran’s launch of over 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday. The strikes were described as retaliation for the deaths of militant leaders and recent aggressions in Gaza and Lebanon.

The missile attacks were partly in response to the Israeli airstrike in Beirut that resulted in the death of Abbas Nilforoushan, a deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, along with Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

In a statement released on Wednesday, G7 leaders expressed “strong concern” regarding the escalating crisis in the Middle East. They emphasized that while the situation is serious, a diplomatic solution remains possible and that a wider regional conflict would not serve anyone’s interests.

Baghaei highlighted the responsibility of G7 nations, particularly the United States, in contributing to insecurity and instability in the region through their military, financial, and political support for Israel.
