Iran-Israel Conflict: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Threatens “Crushing Attacks” Against Israel

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have threatened to execute “crushing attacks” against Israel if it retaliates for the missile strike. In a statement reported by the Fars news agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated, “If the Zionist regime reacts to Iranian operations, it will face crushing attacks,” following Iran’s missile attack targeting Tel Aviv.

Israeli military’s response on the attack

However, Israel has vowed to retaliate, with an army spokesman stating that the response will occur at a time and place of its choosing. “This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide,” said Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, according to the news agency AFP.

Israel’s military also reported intercepting a significant number of missiles fired by Iran, although there were a few “hits” during the assault.

“We have carried out a large number of interceptions. There were a few hits in the centre and other areas in the south of the country,” Daniel Hagari stated.

US warned Israel of the attack

This warning followed the United States’ alert about an imminent Iranian ballistic missile attack against Israel, cautioning that it would have “severe” consequences for Tehran. This attack marked Iran’s second strike on Israel, following a missile and drone assault in April in retaliation for a deadly Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Israel claimed that nearly all the munitions fired in that attack were intercepted by its forces or allies.

Iran had previously warned that the killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and General Abbas Nilforoushan, a senior commander of the Quds Force, the Iran Guards’ foreign operations arm, “will not go unanswered.” An Israeli strike on Beirut on Friday resulted in their deaths.
