Indian Culture Shines at Modi’s NY Event

Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, became a vibrant hub of Indian culture as over 500 artists performed traditional dances and folk arts in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Modi and US” event. Celebrations included Kathak, Yakshagana, Assamese folk songs, and a Gujarati number, showcasing India’s rich heritage. With a crowd of 15,000 Indian diaspora members from 42 states, excitement built for Modi’s historic address—the first by an Indian Prime Minister in Long Island in 75 years. Attendees also enjoyed performances of the acrobatic sport Mallakhamb, as efforts continue to promote it globally.
