EasyJet Flight Diverted To Munich After Drunk Passenger Causes Mid-Air Disruption | Watch

An EasyJet flight bound for Kos International Airport in Greece had to make an emergency landing at Munich International Airport after a drunk passenger caused significant disruption. The incident occurred on Tuesday, about two hours after flight U28235 departed from London Gatwick Airport. As the Airbus A320 encountered turbulence, the intoxicated passenger began causing chaos, berating the Captain, and disrupting the flight.

A video shared on X by @FlightModeblog captured the scene as German police escorted the unruly passenger off the plane. Passengers were seen cheering and shouting, “Get off, you loser,” while one person was applauded for restraining the man until the plane could land safely.

According to The New York Post, EasyJet described the emergency landing as a result of a “passenger behaving disruptively on board.” The passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly had a heated argument with other passengers, damaged the intercom, and fought with the flight crew, leading to a physical altercation and his detention.

EasyJet emphasized that “safety is easyJet’s highest priority” and that their cabin crew are trained to handle such situations swiftly to ensure the safety of all passengers. The airline noted that while such incidents are rare, they are taken very seriously, and abusive or threatening behavior is not tolerated.

After the emergency landing, the remaining passengers disembarked and were provided with hotel and meal accommodations for the night. The flight departed for Greece the following day, with the airline apologizing for the inconvenience.

In a related incident, a U.S. man was arrested in August for disruptive and dangerous behavior on an American Airlines flight. Twenty-six-year-old Eric Nicholas Gapco, traveling on flight 2101 from Seattle to Dallas on July 18, displayed what authorities described as “unruly” behavior. He propositioned a female crew member, attempted to open the plane’s door multiple times, and assaulted a flight attendant, resulting in an emergency landing.
